A hidden gem on the plateau 30 km west of the Luangwa Valley in northern Zambia.

Mutinondo Wilderness is a paradise for nature lovers who want to hike, swim, cycle and enjoy views from horizon to horizon without evidence of human activity.

In a world where the art of slowing down has almost been forgotten, a place to slow down.  Where it is a rarity to find a place where you can sit and not hear a single sound, a place to sit in silence. Where the experience of nature views that gives a glimpse of what life was like before human interference is nowhere to be found, Mutinondo is a hidden gem.

Mutinondo is a special place where you can walk in the bush un-guided and soak in the surrounds. Mutinondo is a place where you can again practice the art of slowing down and be still.

Our 4 en-suite chalets, built and furnished by local craftsmen out of local materials, all have stunning views and characters of their own.  Our 9 rustic campsites are widely spaced and situated within miombo woodland. We also have an isolated self-catering camp 11 km from the main lodge.

Mutinondo Limited is set in a privately owned conservation area . Our 10,500 hectares of beautiful bush and views, are ideal for nature lovers and rustic travellers. To date, there are over 1700 species of plants identified, 1632 of these are published in a photo-rich guide based on the flora of Mutinondo.  Adding to the rich biodiversity is a bird list of 362 species which have been recorded on the property and our invertebrates list amount to 688, of which 283 are butterflies.

For the adventurous and energetic, there is the 10 Peak Challenge, with a trail of 28 km, spanning the 10 tallest inselbergs, encompassing an elevation of nearly 1.9 km, and a marked 50 km cycle track which scoots down spectacular paths, skirting hills and crossing streams.
