The Cape Maclear Eco Lodge

The Cape Maclear Ecolodge is the The lodge is located on the west side of Cape Maclear which offers a more secluded beach experience but still only a 5 minute walk from the centre of Cape Maclear.

We have 6 rooms of varying sizes in the main lodge as well as 4 rooms available in Tandy House, perfect for backpackers and budget travellers. We have named our rooms after the fish in the lake, so take your pick...

Our friendly chefs White and Stan prepare delicious foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as snacks. You are welcome to make any special requests and as long as we have the ingredients, they love a challenge!  White and Stan have been trained in the preparation of both western dishes, and traditional Malawian food. Whether you feel like hearty comfort food or a light meal, the restaurant provides everything!

Furthermore, most of the vegetables and fruits that are served are grown in our gardens! We buy our fish from the local fishermen so you can enjoy the fresh delicious Lake Malawi Kampango or Chambo the way its supposed to be.

Our menu changes seasonally in order to provide the best that Malawi has to offer. Come in, check out the menu provided and decide on a dish that takes your fancy.

​We offer a range of activities from the lodge, so that you can make the most of your stay in the beautiful Cape Maclear. From diving and sailing to hiking. We try to accomodate everyone's plans, so let us know if there is something you would like to do and our staff can try to arrange it for you. Even if we can't do something ourselves, we have lot's of useful friends who would be happy to help!
