In 2014, the Slow Leopard was opened as a little sports bar dishing up a couple of different burgers. By 2017 it has become one of Dar es Salaam premiere bars and definitely the number one spot for burgers! Late in 2016 we opened the upstairs guesthouse with a double room as well as a 6 bed dormitory available for travelers looking for a place to crash at a reasonable budget.

Supremely located in the leafy suburb of Masaki, the Slow Leopard Dar is just minutes away from shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. From Masaki, it is a short trip to the city, the ferry to Zanzibar or even the islands of Bongoyo or Mbuya. Our bar downstairs is a favourite local spot, dishing up our famous burgers and cold drinks with plenty of live sport available.

So whatever your reason for being in Dar es Salaam, whether it be work, travel or catching up with friends, you can count on a clean and comfy bed in an air conditioned room and a cold drink at The Slow Leopard.
